By organizing a fundraising event, you can play an important role in the work of K-CV work. While enjoying yourself at a fun and meaningful event, you will also be contributing to in fighting poverty and making our World a bit better place.
To get started, take a look at our Toolkit; it will guide you through the details of fundraising so that your event is a success. We also have a poster that you can download and use to promote K-CV. If you need more promotional material, just get in contact with us and we can send you a lot more!
Using our step-by-step guide and our other resources will make the organization of your event simple and fun. If you are ever in need of advice, support or help, we are here for you!
1. WHAT YOU CAN DO
Choose an activity that you love and that will interest a lot of people. If you want to get your community or workplace involved, hold a gala, organize an auction or host a street festival.
No idea is too ambitious or too simple; be as bold and original as you like! We have an “Alphabet of Fundraising Ideas” to get you inspired.
You could also enter a sports charity challenge like climbing a mountain or running a marathon. To find out how, see our challenge events page.
2. WHEN TO DO IT
Choose a date that everyone can make, and don’t forget to allow yourself a good bit of time to prepare. When you have decided on your date, let us know about it. We can send you more resources and give you advice, but give us enough time to help you with your preparations.
3. WHERE TO DO IT
Deciding on a location for your event can be as simple as deciding to host it yourself! If you would like to book it at a venue, remember to ask if they have a charity rate.
4. HOW TO PROMOTE IT
Spread the word: invite your friends, family, classmates, neighbor and colleagues. Don’t forget to thank your guests for taking part in your charity.
CREAT YOUR OWN ONLINE FUNDRAISING
If you also collected cash or cheques, you can send us the money online or by mail. Of course, we’d also love to hear about your event and see the pictures you have. Good luck!
